Mariah Carey Becomes An Observer Woman...And Debuts 2 New Music Videos!

Mrs Mariah Carey Cannon covers this months Observer magazine and gives an interesting interview. Highlights;

On her role in Precious:
“I spent as much time as I could getting into it,” Carey says. “She is supposed to be exhausted, so it didn’t matter that I stayed up… I really did the best I could to morph into this woman who goes into this office every day and deals with people needing something from her, trying to get things from her, maybe being disingenuous.”

On her insecurity:
“I am very insecure about my looks, and I always have been because of being mixed race [Carey's mother is Irish-American and her father was an African-American of Venezuelan descent]. It’s not so weird now, and everyone’s accepting it in a big way, but as a child I felt very, um, out of place and didn’t feel pretty. So taking on that character and having Lee make me older in the way he did, I guess it was freeing because I didn’t have to try in any way to look pretty, and you know, when you grow up with that type of insecurity you don’t always feel pretty.”

On her family:
“I don’t want to go into my family stuff, but there were very difficult things that took place. I think certain people like to torture me because they think I’ve had it easier than I actually have and they think: ‘Oh, she’s got this, she’s got that, she’s always had everything perfect’ and it’s sooo not true. You know, I really relate to this movie in a lot of ways.”

On her racial identity:
“Usually the black community knew that I was black, but white people didn’t always – they hadn’t always experienced being around people who were half-black, half-white and who looked more white. My mum’s very, very Irish and my father was light-skinned, so I turned out the way I turned out.”

On whether she still experiences racism:
“Yes. It’ll be a mild thing that I’ll get over, but a friend said to me the other day: ‘Oh yeah, you’ll like her –she’s like you, she’s got a black husband’ [Carey married the 28-year-old actor Nick Cannon last year]. And I’m like: ‘How many times do I have to tell you – my father was black. My mother’s white. In this country that makes you black, do you understand? I know I’m very light-skinned, but stop doing that!’ It’s one of those things that the world doesn’t quite understand. When I first came to Europe, everybody was asking me: ‘Why do you always have black people in your music videos?’ And I was like, errm, how do I answer this one?”

......reason #234888 to lover Mariah… she gives great interviews…

Today two music video's from her remix album “Angles Cry” were released or perhaps leaked?.

Mariah Carey – Angels Cry (feat. Ne-Yo)

Very basic, very “one sweet day” and very Mariah…  can't go wrong with that.

Mariah Carey – Up Out My Face (feat. Nicki Minaj)

silly concept, silly outfits yet they actually work out for the video… not a bad feat.

So do we love it?

Donatella Versace Anorexia? Shocking Images

Donatella Versace was photographed or rather papped topless in St. Barts this past weekend looking like this.

DV is a woman who runs a huge fashion house and who's opinion and cues a lot fashionistas and fashion houses, not to mention fashion magazines follow. She is clearly emaciated and dare I speculate anorexic, yet this is the same woman who makes decision about who walks the runways or appears in advertisements promoting her many products… given this is how she looks like, anorexia and all, is there any true hope that the world of modeling will actually ever change and encourage women to be and look “normal” as opposed to the 2pound sickly stick thin young girls used for runways shows and other modeling contracts?

Doesn't she have a daughter who suffers from anorexia too?

Most Awesome Michael Jackson Tribute. Travis Payne & The Filipino Jail Inmates.

Michael Jackson would have been proud.

Travis Payne, Michael Jackson‘s long time choreographer traveled to the Philippines and was allowed access to the now famous Jailhouse dancers to teach them and then record the inmates dancing to “The Drill” And " They Don’t Care About Us" from This Is It!

Its uncanny, seems like Michael Jackson's 3D vision is realized in real life. Awesome work Mr. Payne, Dres Reid and the This Is It dancer for the choreograph. I wonder if this will be used in the This Is It! DVD?

More pix from the shoot.

Will you buy the DVD?

Try Spelling John Mayer Backwards.... Here's What You'll Find.

John Mayer, shirtless and all, graces the cover of Rolling Stone magazine on stands now, rolling off of his silver tongue is this:

His endless masturbation:

I have masturbated myself out of serious problems in my life. The phone doesn't pick up because I'm masturbating. And I have excused myself at the oddest times so as to not make mistakes. If Tiger Woods only knew when to jerk off. It has a true market value, like gold bullion. First of all, I don't jerk off because I'm horny. I'm sort of half-chick. It's like District 9. I can fire alien weapons. I can insert a tampon. No, I do it because I want to take a brain bath. It's like a hot whirlpool for my brain, in a brain space that is 100 percent agreeable with itself."

On the woman he's looking for:

Aren't we talking about a matrix of a couple of different things here? Like, you need to have them be able to go toe-to-toe with you intellectually. But don't they also have to have a vagina you could pitch a tent on and just camp out on for, like, a weekend? Doesn't that have to be there, too? The Joshua Tree of vaginas? …I'll be happy when I close out this life-partner thing. Think of how much mental capacity I'm using to meet the right person so I can stop giving a fuck about it."

Jennifer Aniston

I've never really gotten over it. It was one of the worst times of my life… I have this weird feeling, a pride thing, for the people I’ve had relationships with. What would I be saying to Jen, who I think is f—ing fantastic, if I said to her, ?I don’t dislike you. In fact, I like you extremely well. But I have to back out of this because it doesn’t arc over the horizon. This is not where I see myself for the rest of my life, this is not my ideal destiny.”
[hattip Lainey Gossip for the JA quote]

So if you spell John Mayer backwards what do you find? Douchbag-zilla is what you'll find. As Lainey Gossip says…It’s not that John Mayer can’t find the right woman. It’s that every woman isn’t HIM. We couldn't agree more.

Appears JM agrees with us that he's a douch… he read his own article in RS and here's what he had to say about it via his tweeter,

“Just read my Rolling Stone cover article. I'm still not sure if I would want to hang out with me”

he continued

“After 30 minutes of twirling my hair into a knot, I say "fuck it.” You can't go wrong if you tell the truth."

Which celeb female would you hook JM up with?

Grammy Awards: Michael Jackson Tribute Will Be In 3-D

Michael Jackson continues to lead the way in groundbreaking ways once again. MJ's London “This Is It!” shows were meant to have a 3-D mini-movie for his song “Earth Song” shown to fans attending the shows. The shows are no more however MJ's vision and wishes will come true at the Grammy's, it will be the first time the Grammy's will feature 3-D technology at the show… MJ would have been the very first artist to feature 3-D during a live show.

Grammys executive producer Ken Ehrlich has announced that a 3-D mini-movie created MJ and his team for “Earth Song” will be presented as part of a tribute performance featuring Smokey Robinson, Usher, Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson and Carrie Underwood.

MJ will be honored posthumously with the Recording Academy's Lifetime Achievement Award.

This year, Jackson will be a focal point of the show, with an unprecedented posthumous tribute. The Grammys will broadcast a 3-D clip the singer made for his hit “Earth Song,” a video that was to be integral to his comeback concerts in London in July 2009

Usher, Celine Dion, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and Smokey Robinson will perform alongside the clip, which Ehrlich says will be the first time an awards show will feature 3-D.

“Whenever we would do a show with (Jackson), the first thing he would say to me was, `How can we do something that we (have) never done before?' And now we're doing something that hasn't been done before,” said Ehrlich, who worked with Jackson for almost 30 years, in an interview Tuesday.

Ehrlich produced the televised memorial to Jackson last year. He was with the singer the night before he died — and that's when he first saw the 3-D clip of “Earth Song,” a call to action about the destruction of nature and animals by man.

“There are these incredible images of the beauties of nature, and then they are seen through the eyes of a little girl, and that girl falls asleep and when she wakes up, she is witness to the destruction of nature,” said Ehrlich. “It's all about questioning what our values are.”

While a part of the clip was shown in the recent movie documentary “This Is It,” Ehrlich says the Grammys will show the full piece in 3-D. When he saw it with Jackson that night, Ehrlich said the singer was moved to tears.

“It was pretty emotional for him,” Ehrlich said. “Afterward he said to me that that song and that piece and that portion of the concert was as important to him than anything else in the show.”

He also went on to say viewers (the ones that will attend the show in LA) will be able to get free 3-D “Grammy” glasses from Target stores nationwide from Jan. 26 through Jan. 31. The Grammy Awards will air live on CBS Jan 31st. TV viewers will miss out on the 3-D effect but will see the video anyways.

Way for the Grammy's to get their ratings up.

Will you be watching the Grammys? We'll sure be watching, we love MJ and wouldn't want to miss seeing his vision and what meant so to him.

Maxwell Croons & Rihanna Does Bob Marley For Haiti On The Oprah Show (VIDEO)

Maxwell performed “Fistful of Tears”, he can never do wrong can he?

I was surprised I actually didn't dislike Rihanna‘s voice singing live… I was pleasantly surprised but her “Redemption Song” rendition, I wonder if we’ll start regarding it as Rihanna's unique voice as opposed to a “not good vocal artist live” king of of voice?

Have you donated to Haiti yet?

Anderson Cooper Becomes Hero While Reporting For CNN In Haiti. *GRAPHIC*

We used to daydream about CNN's Anderson -beautiful – Cooper and his beautiful silver head until I begrudgingly accepted that he might ahem… prefer the other team instead........ then I watched this amazing footage of him save/rescue a kid hurt badly in Haiti and now I'm back to daydreaming about him.

Pretty amazing. AC blogged over at CNN about the incident, how it happened and posted more pictures of it. Anderson seems like a genuinely good guy, a compassionate, caring, human being.

His reporting from Haiti has been great and very insightful, sometimes he seems like he's about to cry he's so affected by the misery he sees around him. I've been watching CNN Anderson Cooper every night for a full report on Haiti, its comprehensive, honest and no sugar coating the facts. Best reporting so far.

Here's how you can help the people in Haiti:

An Epic Win! Jennifer Lopez aka J-Lo Sits In For The Lopez Show.

Spend your six minutes watching this J-Lo clip and you may agree with me.

J-Lo The Talk show host? I can totally see it.....she's in, great comic timing, pretty comfortable in delivery and seemed to be having fun too..... now if only someone would get her to finally accept that her “acting” and “singing” was her past and a show is what she needs to do now she'd be in business…

thoughts? Could she make it as a talk show host?
