Rated R

Rihanna's Rate R promo in full swing. Is her speaking to 20/20 Snitching?

Below is the Good Morning America commerical for Rihanna's appearance on  on November, 5th 2009. The hook is that she will talk for the first time about the Chris Brown incident… this revelation led MTO to label it “snitching” see below screen capture from MTO

So let me get this straight, a RiRi is visciously assaulted by her man, a clear cut case of domestic violence of a young love gone very wrong, he admits to doing it and is currently paying the very small price of probabtion and community service (he should have done jail time). RiRi's finally is able to talk about the ordeal, give her side of story and maybe be a teaching moment for other young women and that is called snitching? Really? And people wonder why people would stand around watching a 15yr old kid rapped for 2 hours and none of them calls for help, talks to the cops, nothing… why? because its “snitching”. sigh… their society has conditioned them that way… see wrong or even be abused but say nothing… lest you be labeled a snitch…

Anysnitchingways Rihanna is going to perform the new single Russian Roulette from her upcoming album on Good Morning America, Thursday Nov 5th, and interviewed on 20/20 Friday November 6th. Her video for Russian Roulette will debut on 20/20 Nov 6th.

Her Album Rated R drops Nov 23rd.  Check the ABC promo below.

New Music! Rihanna - Slower To Heal

Here's Rihanna's new single Slower To Heal (produced by Inkredibles) from her new album Rated R.

I've been suprised at how more RnB and less Pop Rihanna's first 2 singles have been so far. Someone has given her more vocal lessons, she's carrying the tune -and singing in tune- without shouting which is great, however, I personally feel Rihanna shines as an Urban/Pop/Rock edgy artist. Russian Roullett and now Slower To Heal are much less poppier than I expected or anticipated wonder how they will do in the charts.

DefJam and JayZ have sank in big $$$ and a bigger effort to promote this album so it will do well that's for sure though I don't believe it will do as well as her last album Good Girl Gone Bad, which did well because of the many edgy/pop songs that spawned several #1 singles and millions of digital/Itune sales.

Having said that Slower To Heal, is a deeper more personal song for RiRi given her situation with Chris Brown of which he visciously abused her. Slow to heal from such a beating is reasonable indeed and makes sense. Will it sell? time will tell.
